Teaching Loose Leash Walking

We don't want to create fear and reactivity, so we don't use prong collars or choke collars. Instead, we start with a front-clip harness. This is why:

Equipment for teaching dogs to walk politely on-leash include:
*A clicker (or the ability to click with your tongue)
*A 6-foot leash
*A front-clip harness, such as a Freedom Harness or Balance Harness
*Treats that the dog likes a lot. 
​*A quiet place with very few or now distractions
