Clicker 101
January 5, 2019 at Noon
Location: Watertown TV Studio (In the basement of City Hall 106 Jones Street, Watertown, WI Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you had a lifelong way to communicate with your dog? The last time we checked, dogs definitely don’t speak English and we don’t speak “Doggish”. Clicker training allows you to communicate in a positive way with your dog, which leads to fun, interactive, creative training sessions. Gone are the days of force and punishment and here are the days of force-free, pain-free, positive reinforcement training! We’ll cover what clicker training is and how it works, the science behind this innovative, practical training method, the benefits of clicker training, and the strong bond you’ll create with your dog in the process. Fitzgerald William, a five-year old basset hound and registered therapy dog, will be on hand to demonstrate clicker training in action. You can certainly watch this on Watertown TV after it's released, but the live audience at the studio in City Hall will have the opportunity to ask questions and choose a new behavior for Molly to teach Fitz on camera. ---- |
